Secretary General's Message
Education brings freedom but as Nelson Mandela put it, ‘freedom cannot be achieved unless women have been emancipated’.
The Indian society, still trapped in a quagmire of regressive notions and gender bias, is prejudiced in the way it perceives, treats and values the girl child. To transform this retrograde mindset of people, awareness of the need for education of the girl child has become imperative.
Sushila Birla Girls’ School is an exponent of this revolutionary movement involving empowerment of girls. It draws continuously upon contemporary educational practices while retaining its emphasis on Indian tradition, thereby giving students an exposure to the best of both. The school also paves the way for a promising future in which every dormant thought of the girl child that craves assertion will reach its fullest expression, all artificial barriers will be broken and the road towards greater freedom will be cleared of every trace of inequality in status and opportunities.
