On 12 April 2023, the students of Classes IV and V attended a session by Ms. Lata Bhatia, an environmentalist and Co-founder- EcoVent. Keeping the various SDGs in mind, the topic of discussion was ‘Zero Waste and Composting’. An informative and engaging hands-on session was conducted where Ms. Bhatia demonstrated the steps of compost making. She also advocated a complete ban on the use of single use plastic and displayed the items to be used to follow zero waste. Her appeal to the youth is that it is time to act responsibly rather than getting trapped in greed and indifference. The students took a pledge to take active steps to reduce waste by using steel bottles and cutlery instead of plastic ones.
