Forty-nine students and four teachers from Sushila Birla Girls' School travelled to Sriharihota to witness the historic launch of Chandrayaan-3. The third lunar exploration mission by the Indian Space Research Organisation, Chandrayaan-3 was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 2.35 pm  on Thursday, 14th July 2023. A parent of one of the students who witnessed the launch said, "Today, our girls led by four female teachers witnessed this once in a lifetime moment spearheaded by a female senior scientist. What a wonderful instance of empowerment of women!"
