    Classes VIII, IX & XI

    Dear Parents

    We are pleased to announce an Artificial Intelligence Bootcamp in Singapore from the 4th to the 10th of January 2023.

    In what promises to be a one of a kind experience for our students, we have teamed up with ‘TAP’ (The Achiever’s Programme), an organisation that curates innovative educational programmes for students across the world.

    The trip, meant for 10 selected students from Classes VIII, IX and XI will cover the following:-

    a)    Getting Started with Artificial Intelligence (AI),

    b)    Artificial Intelligence in Daily Life,

    c)    All Terms related to AI.

    d)    Big 5 Ideas of Artificial Intelligence

    e)    Coding in Python

    f)     Artificial Intelligence Project Cycle

    g)    Conversational Artificial Intelligence

    h)    Artificial Intelligence in Music & Maths

    i)     Machine Learning

    j)     Natural Language Processing

    k)    Computer Vision

    l)     Robotics

    m)   Artificial Intelligence in Society

    n)    Ethics & Bias in the field of Artificial Intelligence

    o)    Capstone Project in Artificial Intelligence

    There will be two batches, one for the students of Classes VIII and IX and the other for the students of Class XI. The topics taught and the methodology used will be age appropriate and the students will be accompanied by a teacher from the school.

    The tentative cost of the trip is Rs. 1,15,000 + GST (5% = Rs. 5750) = Total Rs. 1,20,750/-.

    Parents interested in sending their wards to participate in the above mentioned Bootcamp are requested to confirm at principal@sbgskolkata.ac.in by Monday, 28th November, 2022.

    Please note that the PT II / UT II that might coincide with the dates of the camp will be conducted on a later date for the participating students.

    Classes I to V

    Dear Parents, 

    This is to inform you that Round 2 of the All India Inter School Arithmetic Genius Contest 2022 will not take place at Don Bosco, Park Circus on 27th November 2022 as scheduled. The organisers have informed us that the event had to be cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances.  

    SIP ABACUS has assured us that they will communicate with the parents of the winners of Round 1 and conduct the Round 2 test by December 2022 at the SIP Abacus centres in smaller groups. 

    For clarifications regarding the date and time, please contact your chosen SIP ABACUS CENTRE. The list of centres is given on the reverse side of the Hall Entry Letter given to the students.

    As you are aware, your daughter is a part of the KG Concert to be held in school on Friday, 25th November 2022.

    Please note the following with regard to the same:

    1. Your daughter has to report to school at 8:15 a.m. She will be dismissed against her ID Card at the end of the programme.
    2. She should come dressed in her costume and apply light make up.
    3. She should carry her water bottle only.

    Classes VI – XII

    Dear Parents,

    This is to inform you that we will start Sports Practice from  Monday 21st  November.  We will practise at the University grounds near Ranger’s Club.  The timings will be from 6:15 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.

    All Houses will practise together on the following dates :

    21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 28th, 29th, 30th November  and

    1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 19th, 20th and 21st December 2022.

    The above schedule is to be strictly followed by all concerned.  However, on some of these dates, students of Classes VI and VII have reviews and they may therefore, opt not to go for the practice on the review dates.

    During these sessions our teachers will be on duty as well as our security staff.  However, we would also welcome help from parents.  If you are interested please inform us through a note in your daughter’s diary.
