A school trip to Chennai and Sriharikota was organized from July 13 to July 17, 2023, by Sushila Birla Girls’ School. A group of forty-nine students from classes 8 to 12 and four teachers from our school participated in the program.
We were able to witness the much-anticipated launch of the Chandrayaan-3 satellite
We arrived in Chennai early in the morning and proceeded to our hotel, the Chennai Gateway. There, we were given a warm welcome by the hotel staff and soon left for the renowned amusement park of VGP.
There was something for everyone, from exhilarating roller coasters to whimsical carousel rides. We also caught a glimpse of the magnificent Panneer Fort.
Later in the day, we made our way to the Golden Beach. The beach visit offered a relaxing and rejuvenating experience, allowing us to unwind and connect with nature.
The second day of our trip brought a unique and awe-inspiring opportunity as we witnessed the launch of the CHANDRAYAAN 3. We visited the ISRO centre at Sriharikota which was almost 5 hours away from our hotel.We were given a tour of the space museum of ISRO. The space museum gave us a chance to see models of various rockets and satellites launched by ISRO. The highlight of the day was witnessing the satellite launch firsthand. It was a privilege to witness such a historic moment for our country.
On the final day of our trip, we visited THE CHENNAI INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, a prestigious college in Tamil Nadu. This visit aimed to provide us with insights into higher education and career opportunities mostly in the scientific field.
Chennai Institute of Technology, the best engineering college in Chennai was established with the objective of providing quality technical education with adequate industrial exposure than any other engineering college in Chennai and caters to the needs of the youth with its innovative teaching methods. CIT has been approved by the AICTE, New Delhi, affiliated to Anna University Chennai.
We were given a campus tour, which showcased the various laboratories of different types of engineering and vibrant student life.
Additionally, we had the chance to interact with the college principal, who provided us an insight into the different courses and academic- programs the college had to offer.
This trip will be remembered as an unforgettable experience that broadened our horizons, fostered new friendships, and ignited our passion for knowledge and exploration. We are grateful to our school for organizing such an enriching trip.
The Chandrayaan 3 is expected to land on the Lunar Surface on the 23rd of August 2023 at 5.47 pm. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has recently successfully executed the fourth orbit-raising maneuver of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft.
Our short school trip was a wonderful blend of fun, adventure, and learning.
The amusement park and beach visits provided us with thrilling experiences and a chance to bond with our schoolmates. Witnessing the satellite launch was an extraordinary opportunity that sparked our curiosity about space exploration. Lastly, the college visit gave us valuable insights into higher education and career paths.
