CRAFTASTIC
Sushila Birla Girls’ School hosted ‘Craftastic’, a three-day handicrafts exhibition and sale event, organised in collaboration with Banglanatak.com. The event aimed to showcase and sell a diverse range of traditional handcrafted items. The exhibition featured various items that included Sabai, Kashi, Grass, Kantha, Dokra, Terracotta and Chhau Masks.
The event was inaugurated at 8:30 a.m.on 24th July by the Principal, Mrs. K. Dey. Students from Classes IX to XII actively managed all operational aspects, from stall setup to marketing and sales. Traditional artisans handled the production of the crafts.
A special highlight on the first day was a live puppetry performance known as Chadar Badar, presented by members of the Santhal tribe. This event took place at the Centre for Performing Arts, highlighting the vibrancy and authenticity of the culture of the Santhals.
The total sales generated over the three-day period amounted to an impressive Rs.1,18,410/- demonstrating both the quality of the products and the dedication of the participating students.
