Field Trip- State Bank Archives and Museum

Event Date: 27-07-2026

An educational visit to the State Bank Archives and Museum was organised on 27th July 2026 for all sections of class X accompanied by six teachers, to provide an insight into the history and evolution of banking in India.
The modern and well-maintained museum displayed historical documents, old account registers, currency notes, coins, seals, stamps, photographs, rare books, and exhibits tracing the journey of banking from manual record-keeping to the digital era.Students learned about the establishment of the Bank of Calcutta in 1806, the formation of the three Presidency Banks, their merger into the Imperial Bank of India in 1921, and its transformation into the State Bank of India in 1955. The visit enhanced our understanding of India's banking heritage, the importance of preserving historical records, and State Bank of India's significant contribution to the country's economic and financial development, making it an enriching and memorable learning experience.
