A Wood Art & Craft Workshop was organized on 20th May 2026 at The Wood Studio from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for 25 selected students of Classes IX–XII. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Vishal Sikchi, owner of The Wood Studio, and accompanied by Ms. Liptika Mallick Roy and Ms. Parna Mukherjee from the Art Department. The session provided students with practical exposure to different types of wood, their identification through texture and veins, seasoning processes, and their applications in traditional and contemporary design. Students also learned about the differences between solid wood, plywood, cork, and MDF boards and their everyday uses. An interactive MCQ activity kept the students engaged, followed by a hands-on painting activity on wooden blocks, allowing them to explore their creativity. All participants were awarded certificates.The workshop successfully combined knowledge, demonstration, and creative practice, providing students with a meaningful and memorable learning experience.
