Dear Parents,
Greetings from Sushila Birla Girls’ School.
As we continue to strive for excellence in education, we would like to take a moment to address a critical issue that affects us all: the impact of social media and gadgets on our children. It is evident to us that the excessive use of social media and gadgets hinders and negatively impacts our children’s well being.
As parents, you play a vital role in shaping your child's online behaviour and ensuring their safety. We urge you to be cautious and aware of the potential risks associated with social media, including:
- Cyberbullying
- Exposure to inappropriate content
- Decreased attention span and academic performance
- Sleep deprivation
- Social isolation
To mitigate these risks, we recommend:
- Setting limits on gadget use and screen time
- Monitoring your child's online activity
- Encouraging physical activity and outdoor play
- Engaging in open conversations about online safety and digital citizenship
By working together, we can ensure our children develop into responsible, compassionate, and confident individuals. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,

To map progress throughout school years, NEP 2020 proposes an annual school assessment for all students in Grades III, V and VIII.
SAFAL (Structured Assessment For Analyzing Learning) will strengthen the assessment system to promote critical thinking, inquiry-based and analysis-based learning. It will help recognize specific areas where students may require additional support, allowing for targeted intervention and modification of teaching methods or materials based on areas requiring improvement.
We are pleased to inform you that the school has registered for the Pilot project of SAFAL launched by CBSE in the month of March for Classes V and VIII ( currently Classes VI and IX in session 2024-25). CIRCULAR FOR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS
Dear Parents,
The annual restructuring of the fees is necessitated by the ever increasing cost incurred by the institution. The factors that affect this increase, besides ever increasing developmental and establishment costs, also entail compulsory statutory financial obligations of salary hikes of employees at par with the State Government. This is something which is not unique to an institution but universally acceptable for achieving the school’s objective and developmental goals.
Keeping the ibid compulsions and circumstances in view and there is an imperative requirement of re-structuring the school fees at an appropriate level. Viewing all aspects, the total fees of the school has been increased by approximately 8% for the academic session 2024-25. We request your kind co-operation in our partnership to provide the best to our students. The fee structure is available on the website (www.sbgskolkata.ac.in). We would request you to pay the fees online through VMS Campuscare or through cheque/draft payment to the School bankers i.e. HDFC Bank. (Details given below):

Dear Parents,
We, at Sushila Birla Girls’ School, have always worked towards supporting the wellbeing of our students. The heavy weight of the school bag is, therefore, a matter of concern for the school as well as the parents.
Certain suggestions were offered by some of the parents and teachers during a meeting in this regard. The following measures might prove to be beneficial to the students:
• Textbooks can be shared by a pair of students.
• Students are allowed to leave some of the books in their classrooms.
• They can photocopy the chapter being done in class and bring the same instead of the whole book.
• Students can bring a separate handbag so that the weight of the bag is divided.
• They should carry water bottles with straps. Encourage them to drink water from the school to avoid carrying heavy water bottles.
• They should strictly abide by the time table.
• Students should be encouraged to repack their bags on a daily basis to avoid carrying unnecessary articles.
• They should not carry heavy pencil pouches, tiffin boxes etc. to school.
If all or even some of the above can be followed, we are sure it will reduce the weight of the bag.
Yours sincerely,
K Dey
