Sushila Birla Memorial Day was celebrated on the 4th of October 2024 at the Vidya Mandir Auditorium with a grand production titled 'Montage', showcasing the vignettes of Bengal. The programme was graced by the presence of Mrs Birla and other dignitaries.

It was a tribute to the rich history and cultural heritage of the state. The performance featured 250 students from various classes, coming together to showcase the region's vibrant legacy through a blend of choral recitation, music and dance.

The programme aimed to weave together significant historical and cultural milestones of Bengal in a cohesive narrative, celebrating its contribution to art, literature, freedom movement and social reforms.

As a prelude to the event, there were workshops on alpona art, terracotta pottery, shara painting, shola pith, outdoor photography at Kumortuli and Chhau. The art work of the students was displayed in a magnificent installation at the foyer of the auditorium.

The evening was a visual and auditory spectacle, filled with captivating dramatic performances, soulful songs, mesmerising dance sequences and an elaborate set. Performative art forms like Jhumur, Baul, Raibeshe, Jatra and Chhau were flawlessly executed by students.
