A-tishoo! The Ladybird’s Adventure

On Wednesday, 11th March 2026, the Playgroup students of Sushila Birla Girls’ School presented a delightful concert titled ‘A-tishoo! The Ladybird’s Adventure’. 

Through music, movement and expressive storytelling, the young performers brought to life the journey of a little ladybird who learns that success does not come at the first attempt, but through determination and belief in oneself. 

Parents and grandparents were delighted to watch the performance and cheered the children with great pride.

Annual SDG Exihibition "Imagine.innovate, Impact"

On Friday, 30.01.26, Sushila Birla Girls’ School truly nailed it with ‘Imagine, Innovate, Impact’ their exhibition on the Sustainable Development Goals. ‘Promise for a better tomorrow’ was the underlying spirit where the students of Classes III, IV and V showcased creative models, charts and posters thoughtfully incorporating all 17 SDGs, reflecting a comprehensive understanding of the global goals.

Republic Day

Republic Day, celebrated on 26th January every year, marks a significant milestone in India’s history as it honours the day the Constitution came into force in 1950, transforming the nation into a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic. 

Annual Sports Day (2025-2026)

Annual Sports Day was held on 22nd December 2025 at the Geetanjali Stadium. The sports day stands as a powerful testimony to the unyielding commitment, resilience and grit demonstrated by both the students and the teachers. Mr. Yeilwad Shrikant Jagannathrao, an officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS) from the 2015 Batch, West Bengal Cadre was the Chief Guest and other dignitaries included, Guest of Honour Maj. Gen. Chaturvedi Secretary General Vidya Mandir Society, Col. Bera Deputy Secretary Vidya Mandir, Principal Mrs K. Dey, Dean of Academics Mrs V. Panja, Headmistress Mrs N. Sen.

Shantiniketan Trip 2025

The Class V trip to Shantiniketan, held from November 20th to 22nd, offered a holistic educational experience focused on cultural immersion, community service and environmental awareness. Students explored Tagore's legacy and local arts, engaged in a Santhali dance and cultural exchange with a tribal village and promoted eco-awareness by distributing 'No to Plastic' bags. The trip culminated in a service project providing dinner and goodie bags to Santhal children funded entirely by a student-led food sale.

Vijay Diwas

Event Date: 27-03-2026

In advance of the commemoration of Vijay Diwas, a wonderful and inspiring show was attended by 18 students on Saturday, 13th December 2025, at the Kolkata Race Course. The programme was organised to honour the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces and to instill a sense of patriotism among the youth.

The event featured a series of spectacular and engaging demonstrations that left the audience deeply impressed. One of the major highlights was a spectacular drone show, which created stunning visual patterns in the sky and conveyed patriotic themes through technology.

Annual Health Checkup 2025

Event Date: 27-03-2026

Sushila Birla Girls’ School organised a comprehensive health checkup for all students, teaching staff and non-teaching staff from 17th November 2025.  

The programme included ENT, eye, dental and general physician consultations, along with blood sugar and blood pressure screening for students from Class IX and above. 

Conducted in association with Desun Hospital, the initiative reflects S.B.G.S.’s commitment to the belief that a healthy school is the foundation of a strong future.

 

Annual Blood Donation Camp 2025

Annual Blood Donation Camp 2025 of Sushila Birla Girls' School was hosted by 'Sneh', the social service unit of the school in collaboration with Project Life Force on 21.11.25, in the AVR of the school. The camp was inaugurated by Mr Saikat Ghosh, Deputy Commissioner Police, Bhangar Division and Mrs. Sanjukta Das Ghosh, Joint Registrar of West Bengal cooperative societies, BENMILK. Principal Mrs. Dey, Dean-academics Mrs. Panja, teachers, students, staff of the school and PLF volunteers were present during the inauguration. Mrs. Dey declared the camp open.

Memorial Day 2025

The Memorial Day concert of Sushila Birla Girls' School was celebrated on 12.10.2025 at the Vidya Mandir Auditorium with a theatrical presentation based on the iconic women of Shakespeare, highlighting their struggles and triumphs. Through powerful portrayals, the women characters embodied the strength and resilience that defines them. The play beautifully emphasised the importance of equality and mutual respect between women and men. 

Our First Hello @SBGS

Students joining Playgroup and Nursery from the academic session 2026–27 were warmly welcomed into the SBGS family on Saturday, 15th November 2025 through ‘Our First Hello @ SBGS’ — a Mom & Toddler Session designed to celebrate bonding and unforgettable first connections.
