'MAGICAL MARCH 3.0’, a signature event comprising a host of interesting activities kept all students from Classes VI to IX and XI engaged from 15^th March to 24^th March 2023. The key events included a plethora of workshops like those on Patachitra, Stagecraft, Zumba, Acapella, Blockprinting, Drama, Beat Boxing, Mask Painting, Chhaau and Rhythmic Yoga. A number of inter house competitions were also organized for the students, some of which were Kabaddi, Throwball, Table Tennis, Skating, Basketball, Flower Arrangement, Dance, Non-Flame Cooking and Shark Tank.

The much-anticipated Annual Sports Day of Sushila Birla Girls’ School unfolded on 22nd December 2023 at Gitanjali Stadium, bringing together students, teachers and parents in a celebration of athleticism and teamspirit. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. P. B. Salim, Secretary (CMO & Department of Co-operation & Programme Monitoring). The day’s programme was flagged off by the four Houses – Kushan, Chalukya, Maurya and Pallava marching proudly to the rolling drumbeats, displaying precision and synchronicity. A plethora of races followed according to the students’ grades.

Prize days are motivational as they take us a step closer to our dreams. Instilling confidence in children and sharpening their skills formed the essence of this year’s Annual Prize Day for the Primary Section at SBGS on 24th March, 2023.

The cultural programme preceding the prize distribution comprised of songs, dance and a play. The enactment was based on Vikram Seth’s famous poem, “The Elephant and the Tragopan”. It upheld the urgent need for conservation of our ecosystem.

“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” Sushila Birla Girls’ School stands for the holistic development of the girl child, advocating the growth of students not only in academics but also co-curricular activities including sports, music, dance and art. The school celebrated its Annual Prize Day on 13th April 2023, felicitating the students’ endeavour to strive for excellence in the session 2022-23. The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. Nakagawa Koichi, Consul General of Japan in Kolkata .

Sushila Birla Memorial Day was celebrated on 4th October 2023 at the Vidya Mandir Auditorium with a magnificent production ‘The Roll of the Dice’ –the Mahabharata from the perspective of the women characters. The cast comprised 305 students from various classes. The programme aimed to bring to life the timeless saga of the Mahabharata, immersing the audience in its rich narratives, values and cultural heritage. The heart of the evening was a series of captivating dramatic performances, melodious songs, mesmerising dance sequences and elaborate sets.

On November 26, 2022, the Sneh Club of Sushila Birla Girls’ School hosted the much awaited inter school fest Smayan, for the specially abled students of the city. The participating schools were Noble Mission, Oral School, New Mission Julian Day, I Can Fly, Asha School, Manovikas Kendra, Mentaid, Akshar and IICP.

Sneh, the Social Service Unit of the school organised Smayan 2023, a fest for children with special needs on the 2nd and 5th of December 2023.

The eight schools that participated in the event were Manovikas Kendra, Akshar, Mentaid, Pratham Padakshep, Noble Mission, Julian Day Mission School, ICanFlyy and the host school. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Sumit Agarwal, an entrepreneur born with cerebral palsy who inspired the audience with his motivating anecdotes. Mr. Pawan Patodia, businessman and philanthropist, was the guest of honour.

On August 23rd 2024, the school was abuzz with excitement as the students of Lower and Upper Nursery, along with teachers and parents, celebrated the festival of Janmashtami with great enthusiasm. The highlight of the event was a vibrant 'Jhanki' display that vividly brought forth glimpses of Lord Krishna's life.

To celebrate the first National Space Day on 23rd August 2024, the students of Classes III and IV participated in a series of enriching and fun activities organised by NCERT.

Sushila Birla Girls’ School is dedicated to continuously reinforcing its guiding principles and ethos. On August 20th, we had the pleasure of hosting children from 'Smile Makers,' an NGO run by dedicated college students, as integral participants in our school curriculum.

The day began with a bilingual assembly featuring performances by both our students and the visiting children, followed by the tying of 'rakhis' to celebrate the beginning of new friendships.
