The students of Class V have created a menu for April and May to promote healthy eating habits, keeping in mind the nutritional requirements and taste. Please follow it from Thursday, 16.04.26

Please note:

  • The quantity of the food packed should be appropriate to the appetite of your child.
  • A napkin must be carried to school daily.
  • A fork/ spoon should be carried every day.
  • Packaged food items should not be sent.
  • Minimum oil should be used.
  • It is advisable to give extra tiffin to the students on the days they have afternoon activity.

 

RECIPE OF THE MONTH

Mini Sabudana Tikki/ Patty

1cup sabudana rinsed and soaked overnight 1 tsp ginger- grated or finely chopped
Spices-1 tsp cumin powder, 1tsp amchur, a pinch of black pepper2 medium size, boiled, peeled and mashed potatoes
1\2 cup roasted peanuts coarsely crushed2-3 finely chopped green chilies (optional)
1-2 tbsp freshly chopped coriander leavesSalt to taste
Oil to cook 

INSTRUCTIONS:   

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the soaked sabudana, mashed potatoes, crushed peanuts, green chillies, ginger, coriander leaves and all the spices.
  • Mix well, but avoid over-mashing to keep the texture of the sabudana intact.
  • Grease your hands with a little oil. Take a small portion of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Then flatten it slightly to forma round patty/ tikki.
  • Heat oil in a pan, place the tikkis and shallow fry them by flipping gently on both sides, until golden brown. 
  • Alternatively, an air fryer may be used at 180°C for 10-15mins per side until golden.
