Class IX

Dear Parent 

The school would like to inform you about the recent curriculum reforms introduced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for students entering Class IX from the academic session 2026–27. These changes are aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) and aim to promote conceptual understanding, critical thinking and student choice in learning. 

The subjects to be offered in Class IX are listed below:

* Computational Thinking and Artificial Intelligence as modules for 2026-2027. 

**Individuals in Society will be introduced as per CBSE guidelines when released.

*** Artificial Intelligence and Data Science which were offered earlier will be discontinued as the 6th subject / optional subject as per CBSE guidelines.

Key Highlights of advanced Science and advanced Mathematics :

CBSE has introduced Mathematics Advanced and Science Advanced as optional additional papers for students who wish to engage in deeper conceptual learning.

  • Nature of Advanced Papers:
    • Optional in nature (students may choose either Mathematics Advance or Science Advance or both. They may also not choose any of the option and only do Compulsory Mathematics and Science.)
    • 25 marks each
    • 1-hour duration
    • Focus on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and advanced concepts beyond the standard syllabus.
    • The extra classes will be held once a week from 7.15 am to 7.55 am (Advanced Mathematics and Advanced Science on alternate weeks)
  • Assessment & Reporting:
    • Students scoring 50% or above will receive a remark: “Advanced Level Successfully Cleared”
    • Marks will not be added to the overall aggregate
    • No negative remark will be reflected in the report card if the student scores below 50%
