    Classes VI – VIII

    Dear Parents,

    Sushila Birla Girls’ School is very keen to promote an awareness of the city’s past in its students, particularly among those who are active members of the Heritage and Photography Clubs.  With this in mind the school is organizing a walk for the members of these two clubs to visit two important landmarks of Kolkata.  They will visit the Victoria Memorial and St. Paul’s Cathedral on Saturday 16th September 2017.  Reporting time at school is 8:15 a.m. and they will be dismissed from school at 1:30 p.m.

    The students are requested to report to school in normal school uniform and carry light snacks, drinking water, an umbrella and a camera (only for the Photography Club members).

    Dear Parent,

    In keeping with our policy of encouraging ‘Learning by Doing’, we have planned an educational tour to Shantiniketan and Massenjore Dam in February 2018. We are planning it as an outdoor classroom which will cover History and Geography lessons and hence urge you to consider the trip as compulsory. Should you have any questions regarding this, please meet the undersigned or the Co-ordinator Mrs. S. Kapur.

    The dates for the tour are 8th, 9th  & 10th February 2018. An itinerary is being sent separately through your daughter.

    Please fill in the tear off slip below, enclose a Pay Order of Rs. 3850/- drawn in favour of ‘Sushila Birla Girls’ School’ and send it to your daughter’s class teacher by Tuesday, 12th September 2017. Please note that cash / cheques will not be accepted.

    Dear Parents,

    It gives us great pleasure to invite you to “Introspectrum 2017”, a mental health awareness programme which will be held on 22nd September 2017 at Vidya Mandir Auditorium, 1 Moira Street, Kolkata – 700 017.  This is an initiative undertaken by our school to observe World Mental Health Awareness Day.

    We have organized a panel discussion on Cyber Crime, Substance Abuse, Emerging Personality Disorders, Red Alerts, Suicidal Ideation and Intervention techniques.  Eminent psychiatrists and psychologists will share their expertise on the above mentioned topics.

    Since we have limited seats in the auditorium where the panel discussion is scheduled to be held, you are requested to fill in the slip attached and send it to the Class Teachers by 12th September 2017.

    Dear Parents,

    This is to inform you that Class X students have to come to school on the dates given below for a compulsory First Aid training to be conducted in school by St. John Ambulance Association :

    1. Saturday, 9th September 2017    -  9:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
    2. Saturday, 16th September 2017 -   9:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

    Moreover, students have to stay back in school till 4:35 p.m. on Thursday, 21st September 2017 as an examination will be conducted from 1:15 p.m. to 4:35 p.m.   All successful trainees will be issued a certificate by the National Head Quarter of St. John Ambulance, New Delhi in due course.
