'Srijan Chhande Anandey', a cultural programme commemorating the day began with a rendition of 'Hey Nutan’, followed by the song and dance performance, 'Hridoy Aamar Naachere Ajike' which signifies the resuscitating aspect of nature in general and the monsoon in particular. Poetry recitation on 'Amono Diney Taare Bola jaye', was the next presentation which was accompanied by live art work and dance.

 'Pran Chaye Chokhhuna Chaye', a lilting melody that showcased Tagore's delineation of love in its myriad hues was presented next. It was accompanied by a dance performance by students.

The National Anthem was sung, drawing the curtains on the day's programme.
