Class VIII - Class X 

Dear Parents,

We are pleased to announce that an in-person immersion programme has been planned between our school and Clayesmore School - UK. The selected students of our school, along with a teacher, will be visiting the school in UK for 9 days in May/June 2027. We request you to kindly let us know if your daughter would be interested in participating in this exchange programme. 

Kindly note the following details which will aid you in making your decision.

  • Students from two units under Vidya Mandir Society namely BHS and SBGS will be participating in this exchange and working on some projects together. 
  • The partner school is a co-educational institution. 
  • The accommodation will be provided in the hostel facilities of Clayesmore School – UK. 
  • A certificate of participation from Clayesmore School will be given after the completion of the immersion programme.
  • The expenditure for the trip will be borne by the students. The estimated cost to be incurred by each student will be between Rs. 2,70,000/- to Rs. 3,00,000/.

    This is inclusive of airfare, visa, insurance, land cost, food and accommodation. 

  • In case the visit by the students coincides with any internal examination, the participating students will be allowed to appear for another set of examinations.
  • Mode of Payment: In 3 instalments.

    1st Instalment: Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh) 

    Balance amount in 2 instalments.

Class V – Class XII 

Dear Parents,

This is to inform you that the National Finance Olympiad (NFO) is organising the National Finance Olympiad 2026-27 for students of Classes V to XII.

The Olympiad will be conducted in two rounds - Qualifier Level (Level 1) and National Level (Level 2). Students who qualify in Level 1 will be eligible to participate in Level 2with no additional registration fee.

The Level 1 examination will be held online on Friday, 20th November 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Students will appear for the examination from home.

The registration will be done by the school and the registration fee is ₹250/- per student. The fee includes registration for both Level 1 and Level 2, access to the NFO Student Hub, e-guidebooks, sample question papers, activities and assessments as well as a physical certificate and detailed performance report.

As participation in the Olympiad is optional, parents who are interested in their ward's participation are requested to submit the registration fee and the required registration details to the Class Teacher by Sunday, 20th September 2026.

Playgroup – Class XII 

Dear Parent,

This is to inform you that, in the spirit of our annual Daan Utsav initiative, we are organising a Winter Drive to provide much-needed relief to people in the villages of Purulia during the harsh winter months.

We request you to contribute old woollen clothes that are clean (laundered) and in wearable condition and send them to your ward’s Class Teacher by 27th October 2026.

Class X

Dear Parents,

A career counselling programme has been organised for the students of Class X.  It is compulsory for all students.  This year too, we have selected High School Moms, Gurugram, for this programme which includes:

  1. Career Assessment Test
  2. Career Report and Group Counselling
  3. Individual Counselling

The Group Counselling and the Individual Counselling sessions will be conducted in the school premises on Thursday, 17th September and Friday,18th September 2026 from 9:00 am onwards. The GPaths Onboarding template will be shared with the students via Google Classroom. The psychometric test will have to be taken from home by Saturday 12th September, 2026

Kindly note participation in the above mentioned programme is compulsory for all students.

This is a Management sponsored programme.

We are pleased to inform you that students of Class IV are going to begin FINLIT, a management supported educational initiative on financial awareness led by Investors Financial Education Academy (IFEA), Chennai from Tuesday, 22nd September 2026 during school hours. 

As already discussed on the day of class orientation, Financial Literacy refers to the ability to understand and effectively use financial skills, taught in a fun and age-appropriate manner to help students develop smart money habits from an early age.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH

Spinach Corn Paratha

2 cups whole wheat flour

1 cup finely chopped spinach

½ cup boiled sweet corn

2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

½ tsp ajwain

½ tsp cumin powder

2 tsp ghee

Salt to taste & water as required

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Mix flour, spinach, sweet corn, coriander, ajwain, cumin powder and salt.

  • Add water gradually and knead into a soft dough.

  • Rest for 10 minutes and then roll into parathas.

  • Roast on a hot tawa with a little ghee until golden brown.

  • Serve warm with curd or mint chutney.

The Preliminary Selection Trials for the Karate Belt Gradation Examination 2026 will be conducted during school hours on Monday, 07.09.2026. 

Students will be selected based on their performance in the following areas:

  • Karate Basics: Attack and Defence
  • Kicks
  • Kata 1: First 8 steps

Selected students will appear for the Karate Belt Gradation Examination on Tuesday, 29.09.2026.

Please note that the Belt Gradation Examination is a paid one. All details regarding the examination, including the fee structure and other relevant information, will be shared with the selected students.

Class – III

Dear Parents, 

This is to inform you that the students of Class III will be taken for an educational field trip to ‘OFFICE LINC’, 28B Shakespeare Sarani Road, Kolkata 700017 on Wednesday, 2nd September 2026. The objective of the field trip is to help children understand concepts related to money. They will learn to compare prices, make sensible purchasing decisions and budget within the given amount. Respective Class Teachers and parent volunteers will accompany them.

The schedule for the field trip is as follows:

Date: Wednesday, 2nd September 2026

Time:  10:00 am – 11:00 am - III A and III B

           11:00 am – 12: 00 noon - III C and III D

Students should carry Rs 100/- in a sealed envelope with their names and class written on it for the shopping activity. They must also carry a cloth bag for shopping.

The trip will be undertaken subject to weather conditions.

You are requested to send the duly signed permission slip to the Class Teacher latest by Monday, 31st August 2026.
