    Class IV

    Dear Parents,

    This is to inform you that the students of Class IV will be taken on a field trip to Victoria Square on Elgin Road, Kolkata -700017 on Monday, 8th and Tuesday, 9th April 2024.

    The objective of the field trip is to help children observe and understand the different types of plants in their natural environment. Their respective Science teachers and parent volunteers will accompany them.

    The schedule for the field trip is as follows:

    Date: Monday, 8th April 2024 Classes IV A and IV D

              Tuesday, 9th April 2024 Classes IV B and IV C

    Time: 8:20 a.m. – 8:50 a.m. 

    The trip will be undertaken subject to weather conditions.

    Classes I - VIII

    Dear Parents,

    We, at Sushila Birla Girls’ School, have always worked towards supporting the wellbeing of our students. The heavy weight of the school bag is, therefore, a matter of concern for the school as well as the parents.

    Certain suggestions were offered by some of the parents and teachers during a meeting in this regard. The following measures might prove to be beneficial to the students:

         • Textbooks can be shared by a pair of students.

         • Students are allowed to leave some of the books in their classrooms.

         • They can photocopy the chapter being done in class and bring the same instead of the whole book.

         • Students can bring a separate handbag so that the weight of the bag is divided.

         • They should carry water bottles with straps. Encourage them to drink water from the school to avoid carrying heavy water bottles.

         • They should strictly abide by the time table.

         • Students should be encouraged to repack their bags on a daily basis to avoid carrying unnecessary articles.

         • They should not carry heavy pencil pouches, tiffin boxes etc. to school.

    If all or even some of the above can be followed, we are sure it will reduce the weight of the bag.

    Dear Parents,

    This is to inform you that Hobby activities are compulsory for Classes VI – VIII.  Given below   is the list of hobby activities your ward may enroll in for the academic session 2024-25:

    •  Adventure and Tourism

    • Computer

    • Elocution

    • Scrabble

    • Zumba

    • Debate (Class VIII)

    • Public speaking (Class VI and VII)

    You are requested to fill the consent form given below and submit the same to your daughter’s Class Teacher by 8th  April, 2024.

    Also,  please note that though your daughter's choice will be considered, we do not want any particular activity to be oversubscribed.  Therefore, she might have to enroll herself in another hobby activity other than her preferred ones .

    Classes IV - VIII

    Dear Parents,

    Participating in robotics activities will ignite children's interest in science and technology. Through hands-on science and engineering tasks, students will have fun while learning naturally.

    Please take note of the following details:

    - Robotics classes will be conducted during designated activity periods within school hours.

    - At the end of the academic year, students will be allowed to take their robotics kits home.

    - The maximum capacity for this activity is 30 students.

    - There will be no refunds for students who discontinue participation midway through the academic session.

    - Admission of new students into the activity will be subject to a selection process.

     

    Fee Structure:

    - New students enrolling for the Robotics activity for the 2024-2025 session will be charged

    Rs.4,700/-, which includes a take-away Robotic Kit.

    - For  students who were part of the robotics activity in the session 2023-24, the fee structure is as follows:

      - For Classes IV - V: Rs.3,700/-

      - For Classes VI - VIII: Rs.4,200/-

    If you wish to enroll your daughter in this activity, please sign the attached consent form and submit it to the respective class teachers by Friday, April 5th, 2024.

    Dear Parents,

    In accordance with the recommendations of CBSE, the school offers the students of Classes VI the following as optionals for the subject  “Art Education” :

    1. Art and Craft
    2. Dance
    3. Music :  (i) Eastern Vocal   (ii) Western Vocal

    It is mandatory for every student to select one of the above which will be assessed under the umbrella term of Art Education.

    Please note that once the choice has been made, your daughter is expected to continue with the subject till Class X.
