On 15th August 2023, Sushila Birla Girls’ School celebrated the 77th Independence Day in the school premises. This was followed by the Felicitation Ceremony for the high achievers of AISSCE 2023 at the Vidya Mandir Auditorium. The programme was graced by dignitaries, parents and students of the school. Five meritorious students from Sushila Birla Girls’ School were awarded by Vidya Mandir Society with a medal and certificate each for their exemplary performance in AISSCE 2023.
On 19th and 20th July, 2023, ‘Swabhimaan’, the Social Entrepreneurship Club of Sushila Birla Girls’ School, organised CRAFTASTIC-2023 in collaboration with the Rural Craft and Cultural Hubs of West Bengal. Various handicrafts like Sabai, Dokra, Kantha and Madur, prepared by the rural artisans from different parts of West Bengal, were on display in the fair.
Forty-nine students and four teachers from Sushila Birla Girls' School travelled to Sriharihota to witness the historic launch of Chandrayaan-3. The third lunar exploration mission by the Indian Space Research Organisation, Chandrayaan-3 was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota at 2.35 pm on Thursday, 14th July 2023.
On 13th July 2023, the Sapling Plantation Programme was held in Sushila Birla Girls' School. 71 students from Classes I to XII participated in the same. It was a collaborative project between the SNEH committee and the Bengali Department. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Ramesh Chandran from Vinisha, an NGO that works for the environment. Parents were also an integral part of this social endeavour.
To acknowledge the contribution of the medical fraternity, the students of Nursery celebrated National Doctors' Day on Monday, 3rd July 2023. Dr. Garima Jain, Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery and a parent, was invited to spread awareness about the importance of good personal hygiene among the students.
Pretend play where the little ones dressed up as doctors and treated their 'sick' friends and teachers using their toy kits was not only adorable but also promoted empathy.
On 1 July 2023, the students of Sushila Birla Girls' School (Class X A) were taken to Cheshire Home - an orphanage and charitable institution that houses differently abled people. The school donated food items. A cultural programme, organised by the students, was much appreciated by the inmates.
To celebrate the forest festival, the Primary Section participated in the ‘Van MahotXav’, an Annual Inter School Fest organised by St. Xavier’s Collegiate School in June 2023.

On 22nd June 2023, a bagless day was organised for the students of Class II. Various activities were planned throughout the day to make learning fun. An interactive session was conducted by Mrs Anupama Das, Senior School Home Science teacher and a certified nutrition consultant. She highlighted the importance of a balanced diet and regular exercise for healthy bones and muscles. A quiz, worksheets and a memory game helped reinforce the concept further.
We at Sushila Birla Girls' School believe in inculcating healthy habits in our students from a very young age. To celebrate the International Yoga Day 2023, sessions were organized for the students of Nursery and KG. Various yoga asanas were demonstrated by the parents and the teachers to highlight the importance of physical fitness after which the students had a deep relaxation and meditation session as well.
On 8th and 9th May 2023, a training session on 'Special Needs of Children' was facilitated by Ms Gagandeep Kaur, Founder and Director, Unique Psychological Services, for the teachers of the primary section. Role plays, case studies, group discussions and activities conducted aimed at helping teachers understand the requirements of children with special needs better. Intervention techniques for ADHD, dyslexia, autism etc were shared with the educators.

The school celebrated its Annual Prize Day on 13th April 2023, felicitating the students’ endeavour to strive for excellence in the session 2022-23.
On 12 April 2023, the students of Classes IV and V attended a session by Ms. Lata Bhatia, an environmentalist and Co-founder- EcoVent. Keeping the various SDGs in mind, the topic of discussion was ‘Zero Waste and Composting’. An informative and engaging hands-on session was conducted where Ms. Bhatia demonstrated the steps of compost making.

'MAGICAL MARCH 3.0’, a signature event comprising a host of interesting activities kept all students from Classes VI to IX and XI engaged from 15th March to 24th March 2023. The key events included a plethora of workshops like those on Patachitra, Stagecraft, Zumba, Acapella, Blockprinting, Drama, Beat Boxing, Mask Painting, Chhaau and Rhythmic Yoga.
Prize days are motivational as they take us a step closer to our dreams. Instilling confidence in children and sharpening their skills formed the essence of this year’s Annual Prize Day for the Primary Section at SBGS on 24th March, 2023.
Teachers teaching Classes Nursery to III attended a workshop conducted by Mrs. S. Kapur on 17th March 2023. The two hour session was packed with various strategies teachers can use to be more effective and dynamic in their classrooms. The rules of constructing good sentences at various levels and the importance of a multi-dimensional approach to learning were discussed at length.

On Friday, 10th March 2023, the students of Sushila Birla Girls’ School showcased their artistic talent in a display of various forms of art work done by them in the session 2022-23. Their work comprised clay modelling, paper quilling, paper mache, pattachitra, mask making, glass painting, poster making, pot painting, doodle art, yarn art, origami, collage and compositions using water colours and oil pastels.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a call for action by all countries to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. To make students aware of their role as future global citizens, curricular topics are amalgamated with pressing 21st-century global issues in consonance with the 17 SDGs.
Various hands-on activities were conducted throughout the year to work towards protecting our planet and creating a better world.
Magical March 3.0 comprised a series of workshops organised for the students of Classes Nursery to V.
Resource people were invited to conduct most of the sessions which included workshops on mask painting, clay modelling, acapella, drama, rhythmic yoga and zumba.
Apart from being full of fun and vigour, the workshops aimed at boosting the self-esteem of students, providing them hands-on training in specialised areas and stimulating their creativity and imagination.
On 06.03.2023, World Health Day was celebrated by the students of the Primary Section with a variety of activities which encouraged them to develop healthy habits from a young age.
The Investiture Ceremony of the senior section of Sushila Birla Girls' School took place on 10th February, 2023. The old Student Council of the session 2022 - 2023 handed over the responsibility to the new Student Council of the academic session 2023 - 2024. Ms. Amita Prasad, Director, Indus Valley World School was the Chief Guest for the event.
7th of February, 2023 was a red letter day for the tiny tots of Nursery and Kindergarten as they participated in the Annual Sports Day curated just for them. Attractive costumes, enthralling music, interesting races and the spirited participation of each and every child were instrumental in turning this event into a day to cherish and remember.
26th January 2023 was a day of festivities at Sushila Birla Girls' School.The flag hoisting, on the occasion of Republic Day, was followed by Saraswati Puja in the school.
An art exhibition was also organised to pay homage to Ma Saraswati, the goddess of learning. Teachers, students and the support staff participated enthusiastically in the events.
As per NEP 2020 recommendation sent by CBSE, Department of Hindi, Mrs. S. Chakraborty and Mrs. Fatwani made students of Class-III aware of different Indian languages . This session was conducted on 25 January, 2023.
Special attention was given to the mother tongue and regional languages. In a multi-linguistic programme, students expressed their views on their respective mother tongues and regional languages such as Gujarati, Punjabi, Marwadi, Bangla, Urdu etc.
The Primary Section of Sushila Birla Girls’ School observed Road Safety Week with great enthusiasm from 9th January to 13th January 2023. Safety rules in school, on the road, at home and during a picnic were discussed at length with the children.
On 23rd December 2022, the Annual Sports Day of Sushila Birla Girls' School was held at Gitanjali Stadium. Students, teachers, ex- students, parents and support staff participated in various track events. The spectators were mesmerised by the zumba, drill, yoga and karate display presented by the students. The novelty races of the primary section captured the imagination of the spectators.
The annual concert, The Countdown Begins… , was put up by the students of Nursery on 17h December 2022, our youngest learners in school. The little ones went on stage for the first time and mesmerized the audience as they wove magic with digits and numbers. The confidence and ease with which each student performed ensured the success of the show.
On November 26, 2022, the Sneh Club of Sushila Birla Girls’ School hosted the much awaited inter school fest Smayan, for the specially abled students of the city. The participating schools were Noble Mission, Oral School, New Mission Julian Day, I Can Fly, Asha School, Manovikas Kendra, Mentaid, Akshar and IICP.
The tiny tots of Sushila Birla Girls’ School upheld the value of keeping a promise with their delightful dramatisation of Robert Browning’s masterpiece, ‘The Pied Piper of Hamelin’ on Friday, 25th November 2022.
Dr. Shruti Suman, parent of one of the students studying at Sushila Birla Girls’ School and a dentist by profession conducted an interactive session with the students of Class IV on 7th November, 2022.
She laid emphasis on the importance of good oral health, use of fluoride tooth paste and dental floss for optimum dental hygiene.
A career fair was organised for the students of Classes XI and XII on 4th November 2022.
On 23rd September 2022, the students and teachers of Sushila Birla Girls' School travelled to Uttar Chandanpiri, a small hamlet in Sunderban to distribute survival kits and other essential items to 500 villagers. LED lights, toys, teaching aids and various stationery items were donated to Uttar Chandanpiri Prathamik Vidyalaya. 265 students of the school were also given food items.
On 15th September, 2022 a seminar on Cyber Security was organised by Sushila Birla Girls’ School at G. D. Birla Sabhagar. The facilitator was Dr. Rakshit Tandon, an expert on Cyber Security. His guidance to young students on keeping security norms uppermost on their minds while using electronic devices formed the core of his address.
‘Hindi Diwas' was celebrated at Sushila Birla Girls’ School on 14th September 2022. Students from Class III showcased the richness of Hindi Literature with the programme, ‘Hindi - Bharat Ki Shaan’. The presentation started with a speech on the significance of Hindi Diwas followed by a famous play by Bhartendu Harishchandra titled ‘Andher Nagri, Choupat Raja’. The programme concluded with a song eulogising the Hindi language.
A workshop for the parents of Classes IV and V was organised by the teachers of the English and Mathematics departments of the Primary Section on 10th September, 2022.
A training Session on Financial Literacy and use of Digital Tools was organized by CBSE for teachers in Sushila Birla Girls’ School, designated as Hub School on 7th September, 2022.
The session was conducted by Mr Alok Nath Ghosh, Relationship Manager- Equity with Sharekhan.
73 teachers from Sushila Birla Girls’ School and member schools of the Hub participated.
25 students from Classes II - V participated in Van Mahotxav 2022, an inter-school fest organised by St. Xavier’s Collegiate School on 22nd and 25th July 2022.
The school bagged 1st position in Fashion Show and 2nd position in Fancy Dress Competition.
On the occasion of the 8th International Day of Yoga, on 21st June, 2022, a video titled ‘Yogsandhan - In search of Divine’ was uploaded on the Facebook page of the school. In this video, the students of six city schools, Birla High School, Apeejay School, Abhinav Bharti, Lakshmipath Singhania Academy, Shri Shikshayatan and Sushila Birla Girls’ School joined hands and demonstrated various yoga asanas, highlighting the importance of physical fitness.
Born on 7th May 1861, Rabindranath Tagore was a Bengali polymath who was a celebrated poet, writer, playwright, composer, philosopher, social reformer and painter. He was highly influential in introducing Indian culture to the West and vice versa.
In a bid to commemorate International Dance Day, students from junior and senior sections of Sushila Birla Girls' School performed a choreographed Indo-Western dance. The video was shot as a one- take sequence using the entire school premises. The students danced in the form of a flashmob along with their mentors, the dance teachers of the school.
Sushila Birla Girls' School celebrated the Annual Prize Day for the session 2021-2022 on 09.04.2022. A day most sought after, it honoured the grit, determination and excellence of students in the face of the ongoing pandemic which has altered our lives-socially, emotionally, physically and above all, academically.

Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students of Classes I to V of Sushila Birla Girls’ School on the 8th of March 2022 in the hybrid mode.
The day was celebrated to inspire the future generation with real life stories of the women achievers, who have proved to the world the power of women.
The students of the primary section of Sushila Birla Girls’ School celebrated Saraswati Puja with great devotion. Due to the pandemic, the students could not attend the puja organised in school, but this failed to dampen their spirit as they celebrated the festival virtually through a colourful programme with their classmates.
The students of Sushila Birla Girls' School celebrated the 73rd Republic Day with great enthusiasm and aplomb. Virtual assemblies were conducted in all classes where the students sang patriotic songs and highlighted the significance of the day. Keeping in mind the health and safety of the senior students, Sushila Birla Girls’ School and Birla High School, in collaboration with Belle Vue Clinic, organised vaccination camps on January 8 and January 14, 2022.
The Annual Sports Day is a red letter day in the calendar of important events in Sushila Birla Girls School. The holistic development of students has been the motivating factor behind this event. The students of Class V of Sushila Birla Girls’ School celebrated World Soil Day during their online virtual classes. World Soil Day is celebrated every year on 5th December, aiming to raise awareness on the importance of preservation of soil health. Degradation of soil and poor soil management has become a serious environmental issue impacting the sustainability of life on Earth.
World Computer Literacy Day is observed on the 2nd of December every year to promote digital literacy and reduce the digital divide in the world.
Digital transformation is the need of the hour and we at Sushila Birla Girls’ School strive to empower not only our students but also their parents with skills to enable them to keep pace with the digitised world.
Students of the primary section celebrated Children’s Day virtually on Monday, 15th November.
In Kindergarten, the teachers sang songs, danced and played ‘Rhyme Antakshari’ with the students. This was followed by a Fun Quiz which the students thoroughly enjoyed and laughed their hearts out.
Sushila Birla Memorial Day was observed through a literary fest which was organised to celebrate the work of authors which have been a source of great delight and solace in these difficult times. The week-long celebration culminated in a session with Mr. Ruskin Bond. The students used various online platforms to participate in the events which were live streamed on Facebook.
Swachhata Pakhwada was observed by the primary students from 1st to 15th September through a host of activities.
Artificial Intelligence has taken over today's world. In a bid to meet the challenges of the new normal, teachers of Sushila Birla Girls' School have donned the mantle of facilitators and adopted new technological skills to ensure holistic education of students.
In the past year, these teachers have gone beyond their traditional roles to extend a helping hand to students in their journey of being global citizens.
The Nursery students celebrated Raksha Bandhan on 19th August.
They made rakhis for their beloved brothers. The activity was integrated with Number Work and English to reinforce the topics - Shapes and Colours respectively. Students sang a song “Happy Raksha Bandhan” which they had learnt in their Music Class. They also saw a video on YouTube and understood the reason for celebrating the festival
A virtual Inter House Mathematics Quiz Competition was organised for the students of Class V on Friday, 23rd July.A preliminary round was conducted on 12.07.21 through Google Forms.
The Pallava house emerged as winners and the Maurya house were the 1st runners up.
The students of the Chess Activity Club of the Primary Section of Sushila Birla Girls’ School celebrated International Chess Day on Tuesday, 20th July. On this day, an interactive session with Woman Grandmaster Ms. Mary Ann Gomes was organised for the students.
In today’s changing world, with increased online communication, emojis have become indispensable while expressing human emotions. The students of the primary section celebrated these loveable emoticons with a song which was beautifully encapsulated in a video and uploaded on the facebook page of the school on the 17th of July.

Covid-19 has undoubtedly blurred boundaries for many people, especially when we are working from our dining table or are always tempted to answer that one last email before we log off.
The Nursery students celebrated Rath Yatra, the Festival of Chariots on 12th July. The students were enlightened about Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra and their chariots through a PPT presentation. The bhajan, ‘Achhutam Keshvam’ was sung and to make the learning process even more interesting, the students were virtually taken to Puri to visit the famous Jagannath Temple. As a follow-up activity, they coloured the picture of the Rath.
Kindergarten students of Sushila Birla Girls ’School celebrated the entire week (5.7.21 – 9.7.21) with the existence of chocolate in their lives. “The World Chocolate Day” was innovatively observed on 7.7.2021.
The Nursery students of Sushila Birla Girls' School celebrated Father’s Day on 21st June 2021 with great pride and enthusiasm. An online Treasure Hunt was organised for the father - daughter duo.

On 18th June, Sushila Birla Girls' School celebrated Annual Prize Day for the session 2020-2021, honouring the grit, determination and excellence of the students even in the midst of extenuating circumstances of the ongoing pandemic. The virtual program lauded the students' exceptional dedication and self-discipline in staying committed to the pursuit of excellence in scholastic and co-scholastic activities.
Keeping in mind the health and safety of its entire staff and their family members, Vidya Mandir Society has organized a vaccination camp on the 12th June, 2021 for all its units which included Sushila Birla Girls' School, Birla High School, Birla High School-Mukundapur, JDBI and few staff of Shikshayatan Foundation. The vaccination camp was held in collaboration with Techno India Dama at the Birla High School premises at 1, Moira Street, Kolkata-17.
Humanity over Calamity was an endeavour undertaken in the academic session 2021-2022 by Sushila Birla Girls’ School to offer a helping hand to those in financial distress during the 2nd wave of the Pandemic. Our attempt was to cater to both body & mind as the Pandemic had created a psychological threat in the form of fear and uncertainty.

World Environment Day is celebrated every year on the 5th of June to spread awareness about the importance of nature and fight against ecosystem degradation. This year saw the launch of the United Nation’s programme, ‘ Decade on Ecosystem Restoration ’.
Nurses have always been the unsung heroes in the healthcare system. On International Nurses Day, students of Sushila Birla Girls' School paid tribute to these brave hearts who are risking their lives during this pandemic to take care of people infected by the virus. A video showcasing students’ performances was presented as an ode to nurses across the world.
On 12th May 2021, a virtual session for the parents of the Class VI students was conducted by Mrs Ranjana Roy and Dr Sutapa GuhaRay Datta, the Counsellors of Sushila Birla Girls' School. While Dr GuhaRay Datta discussed the ways of tackling behavioural changes during adolescence, Mrs Ranjana Roy acquainted the audience with the concept of 'digital detoxification' and shared different ways of practicing it.
On the occasion of the 160th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, the students of Sushila Birla Girls' School participated in 'Nao Shudhu Kobi'- a host of virtual inter house competitions. The students paid homage to the Bard of Bengal through myriad activities under the categories of dance, music and art. They also participated in literary activities like recitation, critical appreciation of poetry and 'sruti natok'.
2nd May, 2021 marked the birth centenary of Satyajit Ray, an author, illustrator, film director, music composer and graphic designer par excellence. On this occasion, the students of Sushila Birla Girls' School organized a programme to pay tribute to this legend. Students from Classes VI to X expressed their admiration for Ray's many contributions to Bengali culture through a short presentation. 22nd April, 2021, the 51st anniversary of Earth Day, was celebrated by the students of the primary section with utmost enthusiasm. The Nursery students made green trees using the fingerprinting technique and the Kindergarten students planted seeds, made bird feeders and paper bags.
Sarsawati puja was celebrated on 16 th February, 2021. The puja was performed in the school campus in the presence of a few teachers. For the benefit of those who had to stay at home, live streaming was available on the Facebook page of the school. All covid protocols were strictly followed during the event.
30th January, Martyrs Day was observed in all the sections in school and the soldiers were remembered for their bravery and sacrifices. The students observed a minute of silence as a mark of respect and the life of the Martyrs was depicted in role plays and ppt.
On 26th January 2021, the students of Sushila Birla Girls’ School celebrated the 72nd Republic Day of India .Students from Classes V - XII participated through the virtual platform. The recitation of a Bengali patriotic poem was followed by the soulful rendition of the last stanza of the national anthem. The dance troupe performed to the tune of ‘Ekla Cholo Re’ which was accompanied by a short narration.
The students of the Primary section from Nursery to Class V celebrated the festival of Christmas virtually in their classes. They sang carols and were dressed in red to add colour to the festivities. The birth of Jesus Christ was enacted in many classes This was done before the school closed for a short winter break
To mark the 551st birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji on 29th November 2020, children of class II had an online celebration by emphasizing and reiterating his teachings. During the celebration, children recited a verse from the holy ‘JAP JI SAHIB’.
DAAN UTSAV is an event of mammoth importance for Sushila Birla Girls' School every year. It has been a tool for serving the needy and also for instilling the values of empathy and selfless service in the hearts of its students. Teachers, students and parents join hands to serve the underprivileged and thus share the joy of giving just before the festive season.
Goddess Durga was welcomed in a very special and unique way in the year 2020. The students of the Primary section along with their parents created an ambience to rejoice and celebrate Durga Puja. Special assemblies were conducted by the students in all the classes. The victory of “GOOD OVER EVIL” was depicted through stories. Song and dance.

Students of Class V portraited the life of Mahatma Gandhi through a Special Assembly, which everyone could view on the school official page of Facebook. The girls depicted the life of Gandhi with emphasis on the “Dandi March”. Their History chapter helped them to write the script for the role play. The other classes celebrated the life of Gandhi ji with YouTube videos and ppt presentations.
Success has never been achieved without effort and perspiration and we at Sushila Birla Girls' School recognise this. Therefore, this year, by announcing the names of the prize winners for the session 2019-20 virtually, we applaud the students not only for their performance in academics and co-curricular activities but also for coming to school throughout the year. Let this endeavour of ours be an affirmation of their sincerity and diligence.
The Annual Sports of Sushila Birla Girls’ School for Nursery and KG was held on the 31st of January, 2020.
The little ones synchronized their drill steps to the music in perfect harmony, collaborating with the ISA theme of ‘Birds’.
The girls dressed up as vibrant birds stole the hearts of many.
The novelty races were designed catering to the ISA theme so that the children got the opportunity to take part in several activities.
Saraswati Puja was celebrated on 29th January, 2020. A puja was performed with the teachers and children participating.
The annual picnic of the Primary section, from Classes II -V was held on 17.01.2020 at Green Valley. Students, accompanied by teachers, had a fun filled day.
"Ushnota": the warmth of love....the blanket distribution drive was conducted under the banner of Sneh of SBGS.
200 blankets with some food items were distributed amongst the street dwellers of Kalighat and Bhutnath temple by the students, teachers and parents on 20th December, 2019
Nursery Concert was held on 12th December, 2019. The theme was : Lost In the Woods
Blood Donation Camp, 2019 was conducted by the members of SNEH - the Social Service Unit of SBGS in collaboration with PROJECT LIFE FORCE on 11th November, 2019 in the school premises. The chief guest of the event was Mr. C.V. Murlidhar, 1984 batch of IPS. He belongs to West Bengal care. He has served as SP in four districts and as DIG in the CID.
The Annual Kindergarten concert was held on the 24th September, 2019. The concert was based on the story of ‘The Selfish Giant’ written by Oscar Wilde. Children gave a commendable performance. The wonderful music and well-designed costume, make-up and props were very impressive. The characters including our two giants enacted the tale flawlessly. The melodious choir, the confident narrators and the wonderful dancers were appreciated by all. It was a visual treat for everyone.
Teachers of Sushila Birla Girls’ School, Birla High School and J. D. Birla Institute were felicitated by the management at Vidya Mandir Auditorium on 14th September, 2019. The chief guest for the occasion was Swami Nikhileswarananda, Head of Vadodara Centre of Ramakrishna Mission.
Janmashtami, Lord Krishna’s birthday was celebrated on 22nd August by the Nursery and K.G. students with great devotion and enthusiasm. A ‘Jhanki’ related to the life of Lord Krishna was displayed in school. A beautiful dramatization of his childhood was done by the teachers. This was followed by pot painting activity.
The Valedictory Function of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the school took place at the Vidya Mandir Auditorium on the 25th of June 2019. Hon’ble Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Bharat Ratna, Former President of India graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was marked by a speech by the former President, the release of the commemorative issue and a brief cultural programme.

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, an Inter House Yoga Competition was organised on 21st June, 2019 for the students of Classes III, IV and V. Students of Nursery and KG also tried different asanas.
There were five participants from each House. Each participant had to do four compulsory asanas (Chakrasana, Halasana, Matsyasana and Dhanurasana) and one asana of her choice.
Yoga instructor Mr.Aloke Kumar Das judged the event.
Saraswati Puja was celebrated on 10th February, 2019. A puja was performed with the teachers and children participating.
Sports Day for Kindergarten children was held on 1st February, 2019. The young ones performed their drills with a lot of enthusiasm. The joy on their faces after winning a medal was priceless. Children participated in races like Ludo Race, Hanging the clothes, Fly high, etc. It was a fun filled day for them.
Students of KG put up a concert on 'Adventures of the Ginger Bread Family' on the 15th of December, 2018. They enthralled the audience with their wonderful performance.
Annual school Sports was held on 12th December, 2018. The chief guest for the occasion was Mr. Meeraj Khalid, DC South Kolkata. The event saw the four houses competing with each other in March Past, flat race, sack race, skipping, hurdles as well as Novelty Races. Novelty Race was held for the students of classes I to III. Overall House trophy went to Kushan whereas the best house adjudged for March Past was the Chalukya House.
A Blood Donation camp was organized in the school premises on 12th October, 2018. 178 donors donated blood.
The Concert featured a play named 'The Vegetable King'. It was a musical extravaganza of songs and dances.

Sushila Birla Girls' School, in celebration of 25 glorious years presented 'Her Story', a creative ensemble inspired by Maya Angelou's 'Still I Rise' on 3rd August, 2018. Over 240 students participated in the concert along with parents and teachers.
The inauguration of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations took place on the 9th of April, 2018 in the Centre for Performing Arts. The highlights of the event were the launch and subsequent distribution of the school planner, welcome address by Ms. Bose, Mr. Birla’s address and an interactive session with Ms. Arundhati Bhattacharya, the former Chairman of State Bank of India.
Nursery & KG Sports - 2018 was held on 2nd February, 2018 at our school premises this year.
Saraswati Puja was celebrated on 22nd January.
Science exhibition of CBSE schools under SAHODAYA was organized on 5th January 2018 at our school premises. Topic was 'Environment'.
SMAYAN 2017 was organized by SNEH, the social service unit of SBGS on 9th December(off stage) and 11thDecember(on stage).The occasion was blessed with the gracious presence of Mr. SurajitChatterjee, Mrs. ArundhatiSarkar, Dr. R. Sen, Dr. Suvro Banerjee, Mrs. Jaya Ganguly, Prof. M. Banerjee and many other dignitaries.
An intra school event, to celebrate Bon jour India 2017 was organized on 24th November. Three events were organised.

The Investiture Ceremony was held in the CPA where the new Student’s Council members received their duties and badges from the erstwhile members of the corresponding posts.

Annual Sports-2016 of Sushila Birla Girls' School was held on 23rd December, 2016 at St. Thomas' Boys' School, Kidderpore this year. Kushan House was the overall winner.
SNEH, the social service unit of the school for the eleventh consecutive year organised “Smayan” fest. The off-stage events were held on 10th December, on the school premises. On 12th December, on-stage events were held at Vidya Mandir auditorium.
The Project Life Force organized a blood donation camp in the AVR on 11th November, 2016. The members of SNEH from class XII were volunteers.
Annual Prize Day of the academic session (2016-17) was held in CPA for classes VI-XII where a short programme was conducted by students, followed by annual report by Miss Bose and distribution of prizes and certificates to the students.
