World Environment Day

World Environment Day is celebrated every year on the 5th of June to spread awareness about the importance of nature and fight against ecosystem degradation. This year saw the launch of the United Nation’s programme, ‘ Decade on Ecosystem Restoration ’.

To mark this occasion, the students of Class V of Sushila Birla Girls’ School decided to stand up for the cause of saving the environment. The ‘Green Samaritans’ pledged to shrink their foodprint by changing their food habits. They focused to make the city green by planting more trees. All activities were closely aligned with UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and aimed at reducing the carbon footprint so that our future generations can live in harmony with nature.
