The 5th International Karate Championship 2019 was held on 26th, 27^th and 28th July at Netaji Indoor Stadium. There were 4000 participants from countries like India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Iran etc.

The championship is organised every year by Hanshi Premjit Sen. It is because of his efforts that Indian students get an international platform to showcase their talents. Rupkatha Chatterjee of class II A participated in two individual events - Kata and Kumite, She won a gold medal in Kata and a silver in Kumite.
