Kolkata and Japan in Cultural Conversation

The first phase of the in-person cultural exchange between Ogawa High School, Japan and Sushila Birla Girls’ School and Birla High School, Kolkata took place from 27th July to 3rd August 2024.This exchange between Japan and Kolkata created a dynamic and enriching dialogue between two distinct yet complementary cultures through various avenues such as art, literature, cuisine and education.

On 7th February 2025, Pre-Primary students gathered for a thrilling day of novelty races, stepping away from their usual routines to embrace fun and friendly competition. Children from Lower Nursery to Upper Kindergarten eagerly took part in a variety of engaging races designed to encourage physical activity, teamwork and sportsmanship.

 

Visit to the Art Exhibition

The Bengal Biennial Art Exhibition (2024-25) at the Academy of Fine Arts was a spectacular showcase of contemporary art. The objective of the visit was to expose students to various art forms, appreciate the creativity and talent of artists and inspire them to explore their own artistic expression. The exhibition featured a diverse range of artworks including paintings, sculptures, installations and digital art. The exhibits were thought-provoking, visually stunning and demonstrated exceptional skill and craftsmanship.

Earth was once pristine, but now climate change is threatening its beauty. Ice caps are melting and the weather pattern has become unpredictable.

Alarmed but not hopeless, the ‘Earth Keepers’ of Upper Nursery take prompt action. With compassion and determination, little Santa and his friends work to slow down climate change and restore a white Christmas.
