A Visit to the Park

The girls of KG  were taken to Shaheed Bhagat Singh Udyan (Minto Park) for a walk as a follow-up activity of the story – ‘In The Park’.They learnt the names of different flowers and trees and also enjoyed playing on the swing, the slide and the merry-go- round.

GRANDPARENT’S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Students of each section of K.G. celebrated the birthday of a grandparent of one of the students,  in their respective classes on Tuesday 26th July.  The activity  was related to their Conversation topic, ‘Birthday’ . Students  made birthday caps in their  Craft class and were thus were introduced to the shape – ‘cone’.

RAKHI CELEBRATION

Rakhi is a sacred thread embellished with sister's love and affection for her brother. A special activity for children was conducted on 17.8.2016 to celebrate Rakhshan Bandhan. A parent had come to narrate a story on Rakhi using decorative thali which had a Rakhi, sweets, Kumkum and rice. Children also crafted Rakhi using decorative materials.

Students of KG celebrated the birthdays of grandparents in school on 29th November 2017. It was a fun activity for the girls.

The students of Nursery celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan (Virtually in Google Meet) on 31st July, 2020. Grandparents were invited to narrate stories and familiarise children with the customs and rituals followed on Raksha Bandhan. Children made ‘Rakhis’ using ribbon/thread and decorated them colourfully. They sang different songs related to the festival and matched their steps with the beat of the songs. Finally, they presented their rakhis along with other auspicious items like rice, kumkum, sweets and cookies very beautifully on a plate.

The importance of healthy engagement of the mind and recreation at the same time was emphasized with the help of a discussion on indoor-outdoor activities. During the pandemic the children of Sushila Birla Girls School, KG, adapted to a new lifestyle and enjoyed together with family through these indoor-outdoor activities.
