Nibiru – Mankind’s Cosmic Destruction

Twelve years ago, YouTube videos about apocalypses were streamed online worldwide. David Morrison, planetary astronomer at NASA estimated that two million websites discussing Earth’s impending doom had been set up.

“At least a once a week I get a message from a young person ― as young as 11 ― who says they are ill and/or are contemplating suicide because of the coming doomsday,” Morrison told Life’s Little Mysteries.

In 2012, the fear of a cataclysmic clash of Earth with a large planetary object (Planet Nibiru) gripped the world.

Barbie’s flashing pink outfits, high heels and assertive smile could not have been more at odds with
the Real World’s dull mundanity. Neither could the striking difference between the social hierarchy in
the two worlds.

The keenly anticipated film hit the theatres on July 21 st . Once the initial publicity (and the huge
crowds flocking to the cinema halls in pink) subsided, several took to social media platforms to
criticise the movie for being ‘anti-men’.

However, these words do not quite ring true.
